Since the last post on 19th August, my life has changed lotsssss... On 24th of August 2009, 1 have reached a milestone in my life when Baby Kaelyn was borned. It was an experience.. I don't know how I got through that stage without any epidural.. Hahah... maybe the bet with my colleague helped.. She now owes me a treat on losing the bet that I did not use any pain relief other than the laughing gas (nitrous oxide). All I remember that the television in the delivery room helped me to concentrate...though I don't know what the newscaster was talking about.. but the scrolling words at the bottom of the ChannelNewsAsia channel helped.. If I vaguely recall.. I think it was showing the stock prices... Genting In'tl stock was $0.87 (or was i mistaken) hahaha =)
All I can say when giving birth ... your back will hurt/ache like hell and you feel an uncontrollable urge to "shit"...but can't unless the midwife or doctor says you can "PUSH".
Anyway.. I was out of the hospital in 2 days.. though I thought the 1st week was agonising because of the episiotomy. In addition... breastfeeding is not easy...!!! Reading all the information from the books only prepared you for the technical stuff but the mental and physical stuff.. No No!!!
Milk does not come easily.. and really you suddenly feel helpless as a mom not able to give your child food to fill her tummy, coupled by the intense wailing of hunger.. Oh my god!!! I really wanted to cry.. Despite the teeny amt... I still got up every 3 hourly to express..
Perservance paid off.. now i have enough milk for little Kaelyn.. though the 3 hr feed are still gruellingly tiring on my back...

Maternity Leave starts....
This is Day 3 of the start of my maternity leave.. Gosh!!.. Am I bored! Playing the waiting game for my baby to arrive. and I don't really know when.. but is really tough carrying this little bundle around now. She is really active... and starts kicking me whenever I stop and lie down. So weird.. Maybe is all the movement that puts her to sleep..
Oh no... what if she wants me to carry her all the time when she's out...
Nevertheless... I'm all excited.. waiting to see my lovely bundle of joy.. Will she look like me or my hubby....

Unbelievable...
It's been almost a year since I last posted on this blog of mine... Co-incidentally my last post was about having a baby due to the baby bonus...
What have I been up too??? Yes... I'm going to be a mummy soon and real excited about it. The last year have been really busy preparing and taking care of myself for this little bundle of joy..
It's a girl..!! And my hubby and I will be seeing her pretty face in exactly a month.. God has answered my prayer. It's going to be tough.. but I think I will enjoy it. At this moment, I 'm not really fearful of the labour.. and that's is a good sign. Maybe my great girlfriend motivated me... She had a smooth delivery without the epidural..... Yes.. My girlfriend has her little girl too this year and just last week.. such a coincidence right.. But really happy that we are being mummies together..

Baby Bonuses....
It's been a long time..since I last wrote on this blog...
There is so many things to do from July to Sept. I can't wait for the break to come.. On the hand, it is not much of a break... 2 days of training and 2 days to teach the graduating "rascals". Sometimes... I think that people in school especially the Subject Heads and HODs.. are trying to overkill... just to show that the dept is doing something.. In my opinion, its not good for the students, their mind is overtaxed and they will not be able to peak at the crucial moment.
Well.. the good news is hahaha... the government is giving more money for babies.. It's a good time to have one.. Hopefully by end of the year.. I have good news. By the way.. I was thinking.. if they give 4 months paid maternity, our performance bonus will be affected, ya?... In this case, won't it be like taking from one hand and putting in another. thus not helping at all with the costs and all.??? Sigh Sigh!!!

Prefects Trip
Well.. just came back from the prefects trip to Cameron..
It is of mixed emotions.. I'm glad that I know some of my colleagues a little better while others I think I should just stay clear off to avoid the " clash of the titans".
Well here are some of my handsome dudes and pretty babes from the Prefectorial Board and school (of cos.. including muah!)hahah

The Day has finally arrived
Woot... The day has finally arrived.. I'm flying off to sweet Japan tomorrow... It is a coveted trip since the beginning of March.
Holidays is the time when I resume my normal life aka tai tai life.. travel, facial, massages.. hahaha. Life is temporarily sweet for 1 month. So exciting.. my face really need some recuperating from all those toxins accumulated for almost 6 months (developed via screaming at monsters).. ya know what I mean.
Within 2 weeks.. i can see the results.. my face has become brighter and clearing up.. free of small pimples.. I'm pretty 'o me again.
Woot Woot!!!!

Japan... Here I come again
Surviving for almost a year
... Woo Hoo... It's been a really loooooong time since I last posted. Since then, life in school has been pretty much ok.
Though during the course of the 3 months of 2008, I developed shingles (a form of herpes; chicken pox related) on my face. Doc says that there are only 2 reasons why I developed shingles, even though I had chickenpox b4 when I was young. 1st reason is due to extreme stress ; 2nd is due to cancer. I choose to believe in the former. This bout of illness put me out of school for a good whole 10 days, just after the March holidays. I am still on antibiotics as the doc says that 30 - 40% chance of recurrence if I don't take care of myself properly. Actually I could go on MC for another week.. but the thought of work piling on my desk in school gives me the jitters. So my motto for this year.. is to take it easy.
Hmmm... this year is rather good... for the last month... there is a lot of adjustment in salary. Not that I'm complaining...Mid-career salary adjustment, PB, growth package... if only every month is like this.. hahaa.. Life would be sweet.
My school is really pushing the students real hard... (indirectly the teachers too).. We have remedial everyday for the Sec 4s up to 5pm (including curriculum lessons), on top of our CCAs, marking, lesson planning, meetings, paperwork for trips, projects, training etc.... Often, I cannot even seem to fit my classes in my schedule due to all the non-academic after-school activities. I wonder why the new Education minister, Mr Ng, is asking about why teachers is not taking teaching as a lifelong career. Don't he see why?? We love the teaching.... is the other stuff that is killing us. In addition, there is no space even for ourselves... is school and school alone.
Work life balance... where is it? Am I blind to see? Because of this, I am already hearing some of the colleagues whose bond is finishing this June, insistently deciding to quit the teaching force at the end of the year. Sigh... my school is short of English, Lit and Humans teachers again. There is no end to this vicious cycle. A sec. sch classmate just called to say that she is longer in teaching.. quit and joined the tourism board after 7 years.
In any case, I think the cohort should give ourselves a pat on the back, in another 2 months, WE HAVE SURVIVED A YEAR... hopefully things will get easier. Congrats...

A Brand New 2008
Woah... It has been a long time since I last wrote on this blog..
2007 has been a rough & bad year for me..especially during the 2nd part of the year.
Jul- All of the buddies that I know were thrown in the bottomless ocean of teaching
Aug- My maternal grandma passed on... which i had a hard time getting over while teaching in school
Aug- Nov - The work in school was drowning my soul and sucking life out of me.. that i lost much weight.
Dec - A sad time... cos I din get much of a holiday due to work commitments... Hmph! The only good thing is that I have a pair of perfect vision for the next 10 years.
A brand new year 2008.. Hopefully it is much much better..
3 weeks into the year.. so far so good..
Have been made the Prefect Mistress of the school on top of the existing extra CCAs that I have.
Thank god... that I'm teaching English for Sec 1 ... and they are definitely mouldable.. Cool!!!!
Have fun teaching them.
My current batch of Sec 3 are "guai"... my Sec 4 have became more tamed than before. THANK GOD...
After the December holidays... I have made a pact with myself.. to really get on to start a family..Pray for me, peeps... Another thing is that I have so tell myself.. not to let anything get me down for this new year.. Remain happy and relax...
Motto For School : Things are not that crucial until they repeated remind you for it.. other than that take your time.. ahahha
For you monster trainers out there, never let these monsters get you down... =)
Cheers...
